About us
Since 1957, what is now our third-generation family business has been synonymous with custom-made footwear that fits perfectly. We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern standards – for custom-made shoes that not only fit, but also last.
1957 – Founding
Peter Volgger opens his first shoemaker's workshop in Moso with a small shopfront in rented space. The beginning of a tradition that still stands for quality and craftsmanship today.
1969 – Master shoemaker's examination
Peter Volgger successfully passes his master shoemaker's examination and deepens his expertise in traditional craftsmanship.
1969 – Success in the national competition for custom-made shoes
Peter Volgger achieves an exceptional position in the national competition for the best custom-made shoes and demonstrates his craftsmanship.
1972 – Master craftsman's examination in orthopaedic shoemaking
With his master craftsman's examination in orthopaedic shoemaking, Peter Volgger expands his expertise and begins working with medical supply companies to offer orthopaedic solutions as well.
1975 – Gold medal for orthopaedic shoes
At the Bolzano trade fair, Peter Volgger is awarded the gold medal for his work – a significant recognition of his craftsmanship excellence.
1984 – New workshop and family business
His sons Markus and Christoph Volgger join the business. At the same time, a larger shop opens on the ground floor of the family home in Moso, while the workshop is moved to the basement.
1986 – Master shoemaker's examination by Markus Volgger
Markus Volgger passes the master shoemaker examination and continues the family tradition with passion.
1988 – Markus Volgger's master craftsman's examination in orthopaedic shoemaking
Markus Volgger also passes his master craftsman's examination in orthopaedic shoemaking and expands the range of services offered by the company.
2011 – Reopening of ‘Schuhwelt Volgger’ in San Leonardo
Markus Volgger opens ‘Schuhwelt Volgger’ in the centre of San Leonardo – a modern shoe shop that expands the range of products available to customers in the Passeier Valley and strengthens the company's regional presence.
2014 – Gold Medal of Honour
Markus Volgger is awarded the Gold Medal of Honour for his many years of voluntary work for the benefit of South Tyrolean craftsmanship.
2017 – Simon Volgger's journeyman's examination
Simon Volgger passes his journeyman's examination as an orthopaedic shoemaker and continues the family tradition in its third generation.
2023 – Bronze badge of honour for Simon Volgger
Simon Volgger is awarded the bronze badge of honour for his six years of voluntary work on the provincial committee for young craftsmen.
2024 – Simon Volgger's master craftsman's examination in orthopaedic shoemaking
Simon Volgger passes his master craftsman's examination as an orthopaedic shoemaker and continues the excellence of the family business in its third generation.
